Polaroid landscapes from Arosa - a journey back in time
In January 2024, I had the special opportunity to discover the snowy landscapes of Arosa through the lens of a Polaroid camera from the 1980s. The old camera with its small imperfections enchanted me in a very special way: it produces an aesthetic that seems to be from another time, almost as if the pictures were taken in the 1950s.
The motifs - deserted paths, snow-covered forests, weathered roots and majestic mountains - tell of the quiet beauty of the winter landscape. The analog camera technique creates a special atmosphere: soft transitions, gentle colors and unexpected details that give the pictures a soul all of their own.
This series is based on a dialog between transience and permanence. The abundance of snow covering the landscape reinforces the timeless effect and invites you to pause and lose yourself in the quiet moments.
Each image in this series is a small window into another world - a world that reminds us how beautiful the imperfect can be and how strongly the power of nature touches us when we look closely.
Blow-ups of the Polaroids are available in various sizes. Prices on request.
Let us take you on a journey through the wintry solitude of Arosa.
